Complaint: Hello,
I would like to submit an official complaint regarding dishonest and unacceptable behaviour by a taxi driver in Hurghada.
I had previously agreed a fare with a younger taxi driver for a journey from Senzo Mall Hurghada to Titanic Resort & Aqua Park Hotel. The distance was short, approximately 1.5 km, and the agreed fare was 2 Euros.
While we were already seated in that taxi, an older man from another vehicle approached us and insisted that we get out and travel with him instead. He claimed that the other driver would not accept a 1 Euro coin and said that he could exchange it for me. He then pressured us to move into his taxi, assuring us that he would take us to the hotel.
I was travelling with my six-year-old daughter. It was around 7:30 PM and already dark. The driver strongly insisted on separating us. He demanded that I sit in the front seat while my daughter sat alone in the back. My daughter became frightened, started crying, and refused to sit alone. Despite my objection, the driver continued to pressure us, falsely claiming that it was illegal for both of us to sit in the back seat.
The seats in the vehicle were pushed as far back as possible, leaving almost no leg room. This appeared to be deliberate and made it difficult for me to properly see my wallet and money while making payment.
During the journey and while settling the fare, the driver repeatedly attempted to confuse me regarding the currency and exchange of money. He claimed that banks or exchange offices would not accept the Euro coin, and then attempted to give me change partly in Euro coins and partly in unfamiliar coins. In addition, he did not switch on the interior light of the vehicle, making it harder to verify the money he was handing over.
When I explained that I would not accept unfamiliar coins, he demanded 10 US dollars and stated that he would return 8 dollars in change. He initially handed me only 5 dollars and 2 Euros, which was less than promised. When I had had enough of the situation, I handed him a 10 dollar banknote, after which he falsely claimed that I had only given him 1 dollar. It appears that he switched the money. Out of concern for the safety and wellbeing of my child, I felt forced to end the situation and gave him another 10 US dollars.
Furthermore, the driver did not take me to the correct entrance of Titanic Resort & Aqua Park. Instead, he stopped on the opposite side of the dual carriageway El-Nasr Road, in front of Ali Baba Palace Hotel. In my opinion, this may have been deliberate in order to avoid hotel security cameras.
To avoid causing further distress to my daughter, I left the vehicle and immediately took photographs of the taxi. My daughter is now very frightened and does not want us to ever use a taxi again in your country.
I have photographs of the vehicle, registration plate, and fleet number.
Taxi registration number: 5425 (TRS)
Fleet number: 1505
Location: Hurghada
I kindly request that this matter be urgently investigated and that appropriate action be taken against the driver in order to protect tourists and families with children from similar incidents in the future.

Complaint: Dear Sir/Madame, on the Mamsha promenade, where tourists with children are walking, there lives a huge pack of stray dogs (18 dogs). They are very dangerous because they are aggressive toward running children and adults holding food (for example, ice cream). Tourists write about this on Facebook, thereby giving Hurghada, a resort-town, a very bad reputation. Please, take measures to remove dogs from the city streets.

Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam,
On 10-04-2026 at approximately 10-12u and in the afternoon about 3u, during a snorkeling excursion in Hurghada between orange Island and Giftun island., I witnessed several boats and snorkelers actively chasing dolphins. The animals were surrounded and pursued, which clearly caused them stress and disrupted their natural behavior.
I would like to file an official complaint regarding these practices. Although I do not have photos or video recordings, I personally observed the incident and there were multiple witnesses present. The operator/boat involved was or boat, Marina II from Go Shalabi booked with Get Your Guide. The trip started at the Harbour of Hurghada (See photo below). The phone of the company is: +201150444443 .
I kindly request that you investigate this incident and take appropriate measures to protect the welfare of the dolphins and enforce ecotourism regulations in the Red Sea.
Sincerely,Matthias De Roover
