Red Sea is one of the important Egyptian governorates in the field of mineral production as it contains most of metallic and nonmetallic materials, decoration stones and construction materials. Red Sea Governorate extends over the biggest part of Eastern Desert which forms the fourth of Egypt's total area (about 250000 sq km) and it contains a lot of mineral materials as follows:

 

Ras Ghareb:

 

-    Gold in Abu-Marwat

-    Iron in Abu-Marwat

-    White sands in Dakhl valley

-    Gypsum in the north west of El-Dob valley

-    Marble in Al-Shaikh Fadl road and El-Dob valley

- Molybdenum in Abu Marwa - Abu Harba - kattar mountain - Um Deesy.
- Phosphate in Ras Gamsha.
- Potassium in Esh El-Malaha.
- Diatomic soil in the northwest of Hurghada.
- Sand in south-west of Hurghada.
- Limestone and dolomite in the south-west of
Hurghada
 
Safaga:  

-   Phosphate in Um Howeitat.
- TPungsten in Abu Khareef - Dob - Almarabiyah.
- Gold in Atod - Hamama.
- Silver In Um Marwat - Hamama.
- Granite in the west of Safaga.
